by Angus Buchan
One of my greatest “idols”(in the sense that, I completely look up to this man)! What a love for God he just exudes. It’s beautiful!!! Have you seen Faith Like Potatoes? It’s Angus Buchan’s story and boy is it powerful! Talk about getting you fired up for Jesus! It is one of my top 2 movies of all time…and that’s saying something!
Living a Mighty Faith is a daily devotional that is really beautifully made. It’s one of the nicest I have seen. There is a theme each day with a verse at the beginning and a prayer at the end. Each one is written for a specific day of the year too, which makes it easy. It also has a ribbon bookmark so you can open right up to your daily devotion!
Honestly? I recommend anything and everything that Angus Buchan writes. So, definitely pick this one up! You won’t regret it. I love this quote I read in it: “Serious Christianity is getting back to the Word of God and doing what the Bible says, not what we think it says, or what tradition may interpret the Word of God to say.”
Thank you for this great book in exchange for my review. As always, this is my honest opinion. Here’s to many more!

With all the hype around the awesome movie that just came out, I wanted to read the autobiography that Chris Kyle wrote. I’m surprised I haven’t read it yet considering my large collection of SEAL books.
Surprisingly, I have very mixed feelings about the book. Chris Kyle was a hero. He was an absolute hero and deserves every ounce of the recognition and awards he has received. And, if I may say, Jesse Ventura better watch his back… Seriously? Suing Taya, Chris’ widow? I don’t think that’s going to fly with the brotherhood.
MOVING ON… my only “beef” with this book would have to be his mixed up priorities. He felt that life was about God, Country and then Family. Claiming to be a Christian, I would think that he would feel differently about that. Beware of reading if you are not of a strong constitution. There is heavy swearing and the book is full of violence (OBVIOUSLY).
Surprisingly enough, he made it through all four deployments in Iraq. He had come back home and was making changes. He realized that he needed to be there for his family and was working on his marriage. Sadly, he was killed while working with a young man that had PTSD. (On a side note, his trial for the murder of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield begins in just a couple of weeks)
Overall, it was an intriguing book and the movie was amazing! I allowed my teenage son to read the book because it is an autobiography and we discussed it together when he came across portions that went against what he thought was right.
Thank you to all service men and women. I am incredibly grateful and honored by your service.

by Mosab Hassan Yousef (with Ron Brackin)
Oh My Goodness. Let me just tell you that this is one of the most amazing books you will ever read. If you follow the news AT ALL, you have heard of the Hamas. They are responsible for many suicide bombings and other attacks that you have seen and heard about in Israel. This is the story of Sheikh Hassan Yousef’s son and heir to the Hamas legacy.
Sheikh was one of the founding fathers of the Hamas, and, by far, the most powerful. His son, Mosab, was expected to follow in his footsteps and lead this radical group. All was in place until he was shown the amazing love and mercy of Christ and begin to work and spy for Israel.
This is 100% true and will keep you wide awake while reading it at 2:00am (since most of us are mommies and that’s the first freakin’ second we have to ourselves).
While this is not a new release (copyright 2010, 2011), a movie, The Green Prince (based on the code name used by the Israelis), is coming to theaters and is a MUST SEE.
You can look at this website to find out when it is coming to a theater near you. If it isn’t, you can request it:
The Green Prince
In honor of the movie coming to theaters, I would love to give away a copy of this AMAZING book.
