Letters from My Father’s Murderer – A Journey of Forgiveness

by Laurie A. Coombs

This book is a BEAUTIFUL message of forgiveness. As the title suggests, Laurie’s father was murdered. As she began to know Jesus and grow closer to Him, she started to realize that He was asking her to forgive her father’s murderer. Thus began a long journey of communication. Through many tears and open, raw wounds, Laurie was able to find peace and bring glory to God.

As she shares with us the letters that passed back and forth between them, she also shares her heart and her emotions as each one shows up at her door. It is such a tragic, but beautiful story! God shines through in every ounce of it and that is what is so beautiful. Please pick up a copy! (Link is in the pic above)

Buried Secrets

by Irene Hannon

In this first book of the Men of Valor series, we find ex Navy SEAL, Mac McGregor and small town police chief, Lisa Grant, coming together to try to find some answers. Mac has recently switched over to detective work and Lisa has left Chicago has a high profile forensic cop. As construction unearths something long buried, they must rush to get to the bottom of it before the scene grows cold again. Of course, a little falling in love is bound to happen…

This is the first book by Irene that I have read. While it seemed to drag in some parts, overall I really enjoyed it. The plot was interesting and held my attention. I felt like a lot of “scenes” were much longer than they needed to be, but some people really enjoy that and I am taking that into account. The characters were interesting and stayed true to their character as the story progressed. There were plenty of twists in the story and suspense throughout. A solid 4 stars.

Thanks so much, Revell, for this great read! As always, this is my honest opinion. Here’s to many more!!

For Elise

by Sarah M. Eden

Sarah has done it again. She never disappoints!! This is another INCREDIBLE, Regency romance. It’s a story of redemption, intrigue, death threats, tragedies, true friendship and deep love. It’s absolutely beautiful. Best part? Characters keep their strength of character throughout the book. Nobody storms off after declaring their love and finding out something they didn’t like about the other person. They remain true. I love that kind of man. That’s a hero, in my eyes.

Every book by Sarah is clean, the plots move along and don’t grow stagnant, has wit and is full of loveable people. If you are looking for great Regency reads, you can stop here!! I give it 5 Solid Stars. Please pick up a copy for yourself and gift one to a sweet friend that’s needing some love!!! (Link is in the pic above)

Thanks, Sarah, for taking time to Face-Off with me and have me review your book! As always, this is my honest opinion! Here’s to many more!!!!

Inside ISIS: The Brutal Rise of a Terrorist Army

by Benjamin Hall

What can I even say? Benjamin is a reporter that has been in the trenches and literally seen the things that ISIS is doing. What he is thinking by going over there, I have no idea!!!! But I will say, this is one of the hardest books I’ve ever had to read.

My heart breaks. Not just because of the mass killings, thousands upon thousands of children warriors that are completely brainwashed and the same amount of women/children that are sex slaves. No. My heart breaks because their hearts are so empty that they don’t know what to do but try to fill up that void. They think that the more killing and evil that is done, the better chance they have for Heaven; for Allah to allow them a “pass”.

Jesus. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the one that fills that void of hurt and torture your lives have been. Christians do NOT worship three Gods. We worship One. Just One. Ask Allah who he really is. Ask Him to show you if He is real. Mean it. Ask Him and really mean it. He will show Himself to you. You don’t need this horrendous path.

Throughout the book, Benjamin is, rightfully, calling for us to do more to stop ISIS and it’s rapid growth. Us, Americans, we don’t even know the half of what’s going on over there. It blew my mind. But again, there is nothing that can stop them except Jesus. They are seeking to find a way to fill that emptiness and pain by turning frantic and brutal. Pray. Pray, my friends! This is much more serious than you even realize!

I appreciate, so much, what Benjamin has done to open my eyes and the eyes of many. I certainly don’t recommend he continues to go, but I appreciate what he’s doing with this book. It is eye opening, thoroughly written. You will know the players in the game. You will know where they came from and how it is escalating. If you want knowledge of what ISIS truly is, pick up a copy of this book.

Thank you, netgalley, for this book. As always, this is my honest opinion. Here’s to many more (hopefully lighthearted!!! for a while anyway) more!
