A couple of weeks ago, I got a lovely package in the mail!

If you know anything about me, I like to “judge a book by the cover”. Well, at least with REAL books. If the cover isn’t gorgeous, the odds of me loving it just dropped about 90%. Shallow? Maybe. Does that say something about my life? hmm….That’s a whole ‘nother blog… So, beautiful cover? Check!

In The Princess Spy, we find Margaretha, the daughter of Duke Wilhelm, in 1413 Germany. She is being courted by Lord Claybrook and feeling pressure to choose a husband. She quickly finds out that Lord Claybrook is not as he seems.

As Margaretha’s world is closing in on her, she turns to God and an unlikely friend, Lord Colin le Wyse of England. This is a story of adventure, love and, most importantly, finding peace through Christ alone.

Melanie is known for writing Christian, young adult fiction that is based loosely on well known fairy tales. When I asked her what her favorite fairy tale is, she responded with: “My favorite fairy tale is probably Beauty and the Beast. I don’t know why, but I love the thought of a gentle beast and the beautiful girl who falls in love with him in spite of his appearance.” And, guess what? She wrote a book about that too.

10742462You will find a list of Melanie’s books here.

Because The Princess Spy does not release until November 4th (you can pre-order here), I will be giving away a copy of her latest book, The Captive Maiden. This is a Cinderella story, and we all love Cinderella! She’s everyone’s favorite princess…well, except for Melanie’s, apparently (;

  8. The Merchants Daughter is my favorite book! Since I purchased it I have read it 4 times which I have never done with any other book. I’ve read all her books and love the vacation of mind I get with her writing style. So, I think it would be fair to say I’d love to win a copy of her latest work.
