From the first moment you start reading, you will be hooked. This book follows the story of Gretl Schmidt as she struggles to find her way in war torn Poland and Germany during WWII. She escapes from a train headed to Auschwitz as a young girl, and from there, her journey is born.
You’ll enjoy this book as it takes you through her adolescent years and into adulthood. It’s a beautiful story of forgiveness, love and peace. I found this to be a different view of the war altogether and that was something I loved. I absolutely recommend!
Thank you, Thomas Nelson, for this great read! As always, this is my honest opinion. Here’s to many more!!
