First of all, I would like to thank Roitman Trillo for offering me this book! The story is written and illustrated by her; and they are beautiful illustrations! As a side note, I was very excited to see that a portion of the proceeds, when buying this book, go to fight child trafficking.
Thankful for Today is a childrens’ book that is inspired by the prayers of her three year old daughter. It is a sweet story. I love how a child speaks to God with such innocence and love. She prays and just tells God about her day. It’s a beautiful picture of the friendship we often miss as adults.
Colossians 2:6,7 (The Message) put it so simply: “My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.“
No need to always seek if we are doing what God wants and if we are living to our potential and so on. Simply love God. Live with God. Tell Him about your day. Enjoy Him.
A beautiful prayer, indeed.
