Want a Free Book?

Ok, I am working on some new ideas for my blog…I need YOUR HELP!! My brain is fa-ried! So, best ideas win a book!

Here’s how it works:

1. Send me a great idea for something fun to do with all the authors we know and love! (Like my face-off, famous fridays, or video contest)

2. I love your idea and decide to incorporate it into the lineup.

3. You get a PRIZE!

Easy? Good! Help your favorite Charity out! (Lame, I know..)

    • Thanks, Tammy! I try to steer clear of traditional interviews. A simple google search will probably give you the answer to those questions because that is something that an author is asked often.

Is there someone in particular that you would like me to ask that question to? If so, I can try πŸ™‚

  1. How about some character interviews? You know, where the author takes the hero & heroine and talks about themselves, their lives, their hopes/dreams…or whatever! I’ve read some great character interviews and it’s a fun way to get to know the book & characters a bit more. Sets me in the mood to want to read that book! Maybe have them in a fun setting….in a place featured in the book. Cafe, beach, on the front porch of an inn….etc. Get the idea?

  2. How about you do a kind of relay race during which an author presents his or her favorite book (you could ask them question on it, or they could post some kind of review, whatever you like best) and then the following author would be the author of this book that was just featured. It could be a weekly post about Author’s Favorites or something like that πŸ™‚ You could even start with your favorite book and go on from there πŸ˜€

Ok so here is my idea:
You could do a kind of author relay race!
You could start by featuring your favorite book (you could answer sample question you’ll ask the authors, or do it anyway you’d like), then you would welcome this book’s author to talk about his or her favorite book. The following post would be about this second’s book author’s favorite book. I could be a weekly post about the Author’s Favorites or something like that πŸ˜‰

I hope you understand what I mean, I know it’s not all that clear…
Let’s say you start by featuring your favorite book (Book A by Author A), the following week Author A would talk about his or her favorite book (Book B by Author B), the following post would be Author B talking about Book C…

  3. Yes, I’d like to get a free book, yet I have no creative idea 😦 I just want to say that I love the face-off! It is unique and fun; I haven’t come across another blog that does it that way. Good luck on a new idea πŸ™‚

  4. How about favorite authors ‘dishes’ on their favorite dish (food)? Maybe something they feature in one of their books? Wrap up a week or month by asking bloggers/friends to vote on their favorite book by the author’s you featured? Feature books/authors who offer a ‘holiday’ theme? Ex: I start reading books with Christmas themes starting in mid-November. But are there authors that feature other holidays in their books? Feature an author in each state of the U.S. and spotlight something inspirational in each state? Feature a ‘travel through time’ month featuring books from Medieval – Contemporary settings? Maybe make a game of the attire of each time period? Pepper Basham had me thinking about a ‘mad hatter’ theme since she loves hats. (Can you tell I just returned from vacation? All I can think about is reading, food, holidays and travel-LOL)!

  5. You could host a book of the month! You choose a book of the month and we all read it together. And at the end of the month we all email you the questions we have for the author for that book and they choose some of their favorites!
